Business & Marketing Support

We are pleased to share some exciting training opportunities provided by Chelmsford City Council’s Economic Development Team. The ‘Get Better in Chelmsford’ workshop series has returned this month,  offering free marketing sessions to Chelmsford businesses, designed to improve your marketing skills and polish your business strategies.

We know that growing marketing skills alongside your creative practice is important to many Ignite members, so please do take your space at these free workshops. If you have any feedback any thoughts for future training to ku.gro.drofsmlehcetingi@olleh or via the Chelmsford City Council business survey.

Chelmsford Business Support

The Economic Development team at Chelmsford City Council works with businesses of all sizes and sectors located within the Chelmsford local authority area.

The team is involved in developing and implementing a range of initiatives to support Chelmsford’s economy and encourage business growth. We are also working to promote Chelmsford as a place for investment, encouraging new business start-ups and the creation of new jobs.

We recognise that every business is unique and has different needs and so we offer businesses tailored support.  We work closely with local business support providers, and together we will make sure that you have access to the relevant advice and services to help your business succeed.

Please visit our Support for businesses webpage for details of our current fully funded business support programme.  Current initiatives include the Lean2Green business support (1-2-1 training) programme where you can reduce your businesses carbon footprint and make financial savings through developing a business decarbonisation plan and the ‘Get better in Chelmsford’ programme, which will support you to develop your digital marketing skills.

In addition, the Get Better in Chelmsford Podcast is back for season two with an 8-episode podcast series.  If you missed out on the first series, it’s not too late to catch up.  You can listen to the original series.  The programme will also select a further eight businesses to take through a comprehensive 12-week initiative, which will see businesses receive personalised 1-2-1 support tailored to their specific needs.

Help us to understand your business needs

Help us to help you by taking part in the Chelmsford Business Survey 2024.  This will help us develop targeted support programmes and initiatives that address your specific needs.  You could win a £300 Go Ape Chelmsford voucher!

We know that this business and skills support can be crucial for freelancers and creative businesses and organisations and would love Ignite members to make use of this and let us know what you need.
