Creative Opportunity: Chelmsford Cultural Education Incubator Open Call

Chelmsford’s Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP) is excited to announce the launch of a pilot 9-month incubator programme. This unique programme is built around the vision of our LCEP placing creativity and culture at the heart of the futures of children and young people in Chelmsford.

We are looking for 5-7 initiatives to take part in this exploratory programme to help us gain new insights and build an understanding of what works in developing creative and cultural career pathways and skills for work.

The programme is open to both individuals and organisations working in any creative form including visual, digital, sound and performing arts, craft, design, film, spoken word and literature, music and beyond. We are interested in supporting new ideas, big and small, that will nurture Chelmsford’s future workforce.

Successful applicants will get to work with a small number of targeted children and young people to test and implement their ideas over the course of 9 months. We will also provide seed funding, 1-1 support, Action Learning and specific reference groups to help ideas grow and understand how they can be sustainable.

Through collaboration and peer-support, the programme aims to strengthen and build innovative, inspired, and local partnerships that actively champion creative and cultural opportunities in Chelmsford.

About Chelmsford Local Cultural Education Partnership

Chelmsford Local Cultural Education Partnership is delivered by Chelmsford City Council and Culture Chelmsford with partnership investment from Royal Opera House Bridge with funding from Arts Council England.

The LCEP’s vision is ‘Building on Chelmsford’s strength and heritage in innovation, providing all children and young people with sustainable and accessible cultural and creative opportunities that broaden their horizons and support them to reach their potential’.

The incubator is a key part of the LCEP’s 2-year programme. We want to generate evidence on practices that are successful (and unsuccessful) as well as enhancing their understanding of the sector and developing skills.
