I set up and ran Sing Out Loud, a community singing group for unsure and beginner singers in Chelmsford and Colchester, from 2008-2019.
Singing improved my health (ie burnout and CFS/M.E.) and confidence, so I decided to become a creativity coach.
I’m also a creative arts therapist and transformational life coach, trained to work with creative professionals from any discipline, and to use the creative arts in a therapeutic setting.
During lockdown I was invited to lead an online Creativity for Wellbeing group, by a local community hub. This encouraged socially isolated adults to join in, make new friends, and enhance their use of technology.
Work in progress:
Writing a 20-week creativity programme to help creatives and non-creatives review, refresh and rebalance their work and personal life (website coming).
About to start volunteering online to help children improve their reading.
Later – funding allowing – joining my first community arts project, working with young expert artists and creatives. This project encompasses wellbeing, photography, and stop-motion animation. The finale, a public screening of the short films made, may become a permanent, local exhibit.
