I became a published Children’s Author in 2016. My first book, A Fun ABC (US edition: A Visit to Grandad) was recognised as one of 50 top books in America, and as a Caldecott-notable, in 2020. I was inspired to write it due to a dearth of indigenous content, whilst working on a Reading Consultancy project during a period of sojourning abroad.

Prior, having attained a BA in English Linguistics and a PGCE in Primary Education, I taught in mainstreams schools in Southwark and Redbridge LEAs and was appointed to senior manager role. I recently attained an MA in Creative Writing & Publishing.

My family and I moved to Chelmsford in 2014, where I taught freelance in a few Essex primary schools before setting up a tutoring business, alongside taking on authorship and communal responsibilities. I sit on the Chelmsford Community Gospel Choir committee, I am a Trustee to the Essex Book Festival and founder of CALFE – the Children and Authors’ Literary Fanfare Events. My varied roles and relationships with local organisations afford me the privilege of meeting people I would otherwise only have dreamed of!
