Events
Our events are hosted in the city as well as online. Our relaxed monthly Socials are a great way to meet others and hear inspirational talks from local and national creatives. Our online, monthly Hub events are the ideal platform to promote what you are doing and call out for support and collaboration.
If you are holding a creative or cultural event in or near Chelmsford then fill in the ‘Add your event’ form below, and we will include in the monthly Ignite Members’ and Friends’ newsletters.
We recommend that all events are also listed on the Chelmsford for You website, the central hub for event listings in Chelmsford.
Every second Thursday of the month, we host a social meet-up with creative inspiration and an opportunity to connect and learn how we can support one another’s work.
This month we will be hearing from people in the gaming industry, discussing career paths into gaming, and the creative and cultural elements involved in game design.
Speakers:
Martyn Simmons, ARU Cambridge
Course Group Leader for Undergraduate Computer Games, and Senior Lecturer for Computer Games. Martyn will talk a bit about his journey beginning as a fine artist, venturing into programming and education. Martyn will discuss some of the different routes to get involved in gaming, whether they are academic or industry focused.
He will also touch on the the gaming courses provided by ARU (Anglia Ruskin University).
Aj Grand-Scrutton, Dlala Studios
Aj is the founder and CEO of Dlala Studios, situated in Witham. This independent studio which started in a garage has recently designed and produced Disney’s Illusion Island.
Aj will talk to us about his journey and career, challenges and inspirations. We will hear more about Dlala Studios, with insight into how the team brings together art and creativity with technical skills to produce amazing games.
