Events

Our events are hosted in the city as well as online. Our relaxed monthly socials and regular creative events are a great way to meet others and share ideas. Our online, monthly Hub events are the ideal platform to promote what you are doing and call out for support and collaboration.

If you are holding an event that fits our Ignite mission, or is something you feel our Members could benefit from, please use the Add your Event button to submit it for approval.

We recommend that events that are public or community facing are submitted to Chelmsford For You, where you will benefit from their tourism and retail business expertise.

Ignite Social: Music is for Everyone

July 14 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free – 5.00£

Following on from Make Music Day (21st June) this Ignite celebrate the power of music and projects that are widening access to it.

Both of our speakers are involved in bringing music to unexpected places and new audiences.

Hannah Barry, Bold Tendencies
Bold Tendencies is a not-for-profit organisation started in 2007 in Peckham, London. They support artists to develop their ideas and to realise site-specific projects presenting live performances from its rooftop home, Peckham’s Multi-Storey Car Park. They produce an award-winning live programme of music, dance and opera.

Orlando Joplin, Roman River Festival
The Roman River Festival is a vibrant, diverse & community-led performing arts festival over 3 long weekends, featuring international quality performers in informal, public & unexpected locations including disused spaces, in Colchester, rural Essex & Suffolk.

The festival is aimed at everyone in the community and specifically engages the very young, those in care homes, refugees & hard-to-reach communities. From internationally renowned classical musicians to beatboxers, choreographers and digital artists, there’s something for everyone.

**HELP US GROW OUR CREATIVE COMMUNITY**

Ignite Chelmsford is a cultural forum for those involved in Chelmsford’s creative community. Whether you are worker, volunteer, potential partner, or simply a culture loving resident – you are welcome, and we want to hear from you!

Once a month, Ignite hosts social meet-up: an inspirational gathering and an opportunity to learn how we can support one another’s work. There will be time to shout out about upcoming events, help needed or ideas in development so feel free to bring along any promo materials.

We will have a bar with soft and alcoholic drinks.

We suggest a donation of £5, but our event is intended to be accessible and open to all, so a donation is not mandatory.

How to find the venue: Patch is in the old Chop Bloc space, just off the High Street, by the escalator entrance to Debenhams, and next to Nandos. Google maps: 51.732628, 0.475775

We look forward to seeing you there!
