Open Call: ‘Buzz in the City’ Art Trail

Artist Submissions Now Open!

You may have already heard the buzz in the local media, but I wanted to share the exciting news that Farleigh Hospice is bringing a first-of-its-kind event to Chelmsford in 2025. Next summer, the city will come alive with ‘Buzz in the City’ – a 10-week art trail featuring 40 colourful 6ft bees!

In collaboration with Chelmsford For You and with support from Chelmsford City Council, this vibrant art trail will not only raise vital funds for the hospice but also capture the imagination of thousands as they explore the uniquely designed sculptures throughout the city.

We’re inviting artists to get involved by submitting creative and awe-inspiring designs for our bees. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your talent and make a lasting impact in a high-profile public art event.

To get involved please review our Artist Information Pack and submit up to five designs along with the completed Artist Submission Form. The deadline for all submissions is Friday 31st January 2025.

You can also check out our Call for Artists video for more details. If you have any questions after reviewing the materials, please do get in touch – we are happy to assist and we can’t wait to see your bee-rilliant designs!
