The Hive Zine Fair

A new event for Chelmsford presented in the beautiful and historical Shire Hall which will bring together creatives from across the county and offer a cultural destination and experience for residents and visitors to the City.

The Hive Zine Fair was a hint of an idea mooted at one of The Hive Artists Studios regular monthly creative evenings which gathered weight and momentum when we doubled our zine artists at the studios!

Ultimately the desire to create opportunities for the artists at our studios and artists local to Chelmsford and surrounding areas was the driving force, that coupled with having our two zine artists for support and guidance got us to this point!

We are offering full tables, half tables and a shared table so scope for all those zine makers out there, from those with heaps of publications to artists testing the water. Our two resident zine artists, Hayley Wells and Zoe Clifford will be presenting their zines and and fellow Ignite Partner Ben Stanbury will of course be there with the fabulous Menticulture publication. We also have drop in workshops and a Speakers Corner planned.

The Hive Zine Fair takes place on Saturday 4th October 2025 from 10am – 5pm. If you would like to take part please email moc.liamtoh@yelbirteniale for an application form, if not please pop the date in your diary, we need the visitors too

We hope with everyone’s support we will create an event with a future and become part of the annual calendar of cultural activities in the city.

About The Hive Artists Studios

The Hive Artist Studios was founded in 2010 by artist / illustrator Karen Jones and has been managed by artist Elaine Tribley since 2019. We are a not for profit artist studios offering affordable spaces for local artists. Our artists all have very individual art practices, some are full time artists others create art alongside full time jobs. Collectively we work together to maintain a creative space for thought and sharing. We are situated in a quirky industrial estate just off Beehive Lane in Chelmsford.
